Know Our Heritage

"Know Our Heritage" is inspired by the Cleveland Restoration Society's 40th anniversary project, The African American Experience in Cleveland. With support from the Ohio History Fund, we share with you the important connections between historic sites in Cleveland and the significant people and events that shaped them.

The Ohio Arts Council helped fund the Cleveland Restoration Society with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

The Know Our Heritage Education Program has been made possible in part by a grant from the Ohio Historical Society's History Fund.  The History Fund is supported exclusively by voluntary donations of Ohio income tax refunds and designated gifts to the Ohio Historical Society.

The Know Our Heritage Education Program has been developed with the help of Dawn Ellis, community volunteer; CRS staff;  and the 40th Anniversary Legacy Project Task Force. Thanks to the Ohio Historic Preservation Office Certified Local Government grant program, supported by the U.S. Dept. of the Interior's Historic Preservation Fund, and the Abington Foundation, for the generous support of this project.
