Technical Assistance
Free technical consulting is available to all residents in participating cities that have properties 50 years old or older. You do not need to acquire a low-interest loan in order to receive technical assistance.

The Heritage staff provides in-depth assistance to homeowners via site visits, where we can assess the situation firsthand. We can also provide advice by phone and email.
- Learning to identify cause and effect situations, prescribing preventative maintenance, or even determining original features in highly altered structures.
- Prioritizing a scope of work.
- Recognizing and determining effective treatments for household maintenance issues such as deteriorating masonry, peeling paint and wet basements.
- Repairing historic building materials and finding appropriate replacement options.
- Identifying value-added improvements.
- Increasing energy-efficiency and sustainability without erasing historic details.
- Selecting historic exterior paint colors.
