Steeple Lighting Program

The Steeple Lighting Program is an initiative of the Sacred Landmarks Assistance Program that provides technical and financial assistance for the illumination of steeples and bell towers visible from I-71. Funding for this program is provided by the Reinhold W. Erickson Fund of The Cleveland Foundation.

Congregations that have participated in the program are Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pilgrim Congregational Church, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Zion United Church of Christ, Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, St. Colman Roman Catholic Church, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Archwood United Church of Christ.

 

On September 26, 2003, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 2031 West 30th Street in Cleveland celebrated the lighting of its recently repaired church steeple.  Photo by Greg Hildebrandt
