SNOOP!
Around Town!
go behind the scenes
Shhhh! This
Saturday, January 12 Cleveland Restoration Society members will
SNOOP! once again! This time we go behind the scenes at
Whitney
Stained Glass Studio for a very special demonstration
as master artisans restore a late Victorian stained glass
skylight. The completed work, commissioned by George Lucas of
Star Wars fame, will be used as part of the ceiling at one of
the seven screening theatres at Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio,
California, the birthplace of the Star Wars films. SNOOPers will
rotate to several stations to view different stages of this
special restoration project and learn about basic techniques of
the stained glass craft. Don't miss this special members-only
opportunity to enter a live, working studio.
The guided
tour and demonstrations will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. this
Saturday, January 12, at Whitney Stained Glass Studio, 2530
Superior Avenue East in Cleveland. Parking is available at the
rear of the building. Please access the building via stairs in
the loading dock area and wait to be escorted to the studio by
our hosts, who will operate the freight elevators.
This SNOOP!
is free for Cleveland Restoration Society members. RSVP to
Erin
Dorsey. Not a member? Take advantage of a
special
$15 introductory membership rate to join the
Cleveland Restoration Society and then you, too, can SNOOP!
Make plans
now to attend the next SNOOP! tour at 10:00 a.m. on February 23
at the Variety Theater on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland.
