RESTORATION SOCIETY
SEEKS PRESERVATION AWARD NOMINATIONS
The Cleveland Restoration
Society & Preservation Resource Center of Northeastern Ohio (CRS/PRC)
seeks nominations for its 2004 Preservation Awards. Each year, CRS/PRC
celebrates significant endeavors in conservation, renovation and
adaptive use of historic properties. Awards are presented to individuals,
organizations and projects that have made a significant, positive
impact in northeastern Ohio communities. Awards are announced at
CRS/PRC’s annual meeting in July.
Each year’s preservation
awards are carefully selected by a Committee of CRS/PRC members who
have specific expertise in construction, design and advocacy. During
the year, this group concentrates on the many difficult challenges
surrounding threatened properties and engages in discussions on the
broader advocacy issues facing our region. By recognizing the most
brilliant examples of preservation in action, CRS/PRC celebrates
and encourages efforts to save northeastern Ohio’s architectural
heritage.
In 2003, CRS/PRC’s
Preservation Awards recognized projects as diverse as the restoration
of the Hale House at Hale Farm & Village in Bath, the adaptive
use of the Tower Press Building for housing and workspace in Cleveland,
and the restoration of a private home in Lakewood. In all, CRS/PRC
recognized 14 projects, organizations and individuals that made a
difference in Northeast Ohio’s quality of life.
If you know of a deserving preservation project please contact CRS/PRC at www.clevelandrestoration.org for
an on-line nomination form or call (216) 426-3111. Projects must be completed
to be considered for the 2004 awards. The deadline for nominations is April
1, 2004.
The Cleveland Restoration
Society & Preservation Resource Center of Northeastern Ohio is
the region’s largest non-profit preservation organization and
is a Local Partner affiliate of the National Trust. Founded in 1972,
the Society is dedicated to the preservation of Greater Cleveland’s
historic resources.
