About the Preservation Resource Center

Ohio Counties helped by the PRCIn response to the growing regional demand for expert preservation advice, the Cleveland Restoration Society established the Preservation Resource Center of Northeastern Ohio (PRC) in 1999. The PRC provides professional technical advice to private individuals, organizations, and local governments of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit counties.

Located in the Sarah Benedict House, the PRC gives timely, impartial, and reliable advice on a wide variety of historic preservation topics. With a growing network of partnering organizations, the PRC plays an advocacy role on behalf of endangered landmarks, supports sound public policies, and works to advance historic preservation efforts across the many cities and towns of Northeast Ohio.

  • Housing rehabilitation information
  • Development of historic districts or Main Street areas
  • Advice on design review guidelines and organization
  • Historic color scheme consultations
